What does it mean to elevate your everyday?
Have you ever found yourself living for the weekend?
‘Surviving’ the week until you can enjoy yourself at the weekend?
Counting down the days until your holiday so you can feel happy?
We believe there is another way. Instead of waiting for special occasions to feel joy, we believe that there are moments of joy and abundance that can be found and cultivated in each and every day. Moments which you can look back on with gratitude at the end of the day.
Every day there are moments of joy, moments of abundance, moments of connection. What is required from us is to open our eyes to those moments, and to the opportunities for us to usher in more abundance.
We don’t believe that day to day life has to be boring and mundane. We are so used to telling ourselves that work is a slog. We spend so much of our lives at work yet we so often suffer through 5 days and tell ourselves it is worth it for the 2 days we get off. I know, I’ve been there. What I found was that I arrived at the weekend feeling exhausted, with barely enough energy to do the things I had spent all week looking forward to.
I knew that nothing would change if I didn’t change it. I reached a point where I wasn’t prepared to postpone my happiness to a conditional future - to wait to be happy until something. What if that something never happens? Would I never be happy?
I chose to see things differently. I chose to see life as more fulfilling, more joyous. I didn’t want to scrape through my working week any longer. I didn’t want to wake up 5 days a week with a feeling of dread and boredom, a feeling that there was nothing to look forward to that day.
I began to cultivate habits and routines which elevated my day. I wanted each day to feel meaningful and special. These weren’t big things. They were small things, incremental changes which added up over time. Now life feels meaningful each day. I live each day intentionally. I find joy in the simple moments I overlooked in the past.
Elevating your everyday looks different for everyone. What is universal though is that we all deserve to lead a life which feels joyful. A life we design and a life we love. This can be done even if you are in a 9 to 5 you don’t particularly enjoy (although I would recommend you consider whether you’re prepared to stay long term - that’s a conversation for another post!)
Elevating your everyday is possible for everyone. Are you ready to lead a more fulfilling life?
